An RSS feed (or news feed) is a means by which you can stay informed about what's going on at Sea Belles without having to regularly visit the website.
To make use of an RSS feed, you need some "feed reader" (or "aggregator") software. Most modern web browsers have feed readers built in.
Full duties of the President are as follows:
1.reside at all meetings of the Board and Chapter.
2. recruit and appoint all Committee Chairs, except the Nominating Committee.
3. be a Member of all committees, except the Nominating Committee.
4. recruit Members to fill any vacancies in office by appointment to be ratified by the Board.
5. have cheque-signing authority with the Treasurer.
6. ensure that all duties and responsibilities as defined in the Chapter Bylaws and in the Standing Rules are carried out.
7.. maintain permanent files to be turned over to her successor when she has completed her term of office. 8. present an annual report at the Annual Meeting
preside at all meetings of the Board of Directors in the President’s absence.
succeed to the Presidency should that office be vacated.
at the termination of the current President’s term, she will allow her name to be presented as a candidate for President.
serve as Membership Chair, doing any and all things possible to stimulate Chapter growth.
keep records of all members, including Honorary and Social Members.
ensure that all guests are welcome at each rehearsal.
as Membership Chair, her duties include:
introducing prospective Members to the Chorus Director, Assistant Director, and the President.
verifying with the Music Team to ascertain if the candidate is vocally acceptable.
providing the new Member with necessary application forms, and a copy of the Chapter’s Standing Rules and Bylaws to examine when she has attended three (3) consecutive rehearsals.
presenting completed application forms to the Board of Directors for approval.
notifying prospective Members of any last-minute changes of rehearsals, time, or place.
keeping a record of attendance of current Members.
having cheque signing authority with the Treasurer.
overseeing the Mentorship Program.
presenting a certificate to any Member who has been in Sea Belles for five consecutive years and every five (5) years thereafter.
As Membership Chair, her duties include the following:
a. introducing prospective Members to the Chorus Director, Assistant Director, and the President.
b. verifying with the Music Team to ascertain if the candidate is vocally acceptable.
c. providing the new Member with necessary application forms, and a copy of the Chapter’s Standing Rules and Bylaws to examine when she has attended three (3) consecutive rehearsals.
d. presenting completed application forms to the Board of Directors for approval.
e. notifying prospective Members of any last-minute changes of rehearsals, time, or place.
f. keeping a record of attendance of current Members.
g. having cheque signing authority with the Treasurer.
h. overseeing the Mentorship Program.
i. presenting a certificate to any Member who has been in Sea Belles for five consecutive years and every five (5) years thereafter.
j. present an annual report at the Annual Meeting.
As Secretary the duties also include the following:
1. accurately record all minutes of the meetings held by the Board of Directors and the Chapter, such minutes to be neatly typed, sent to the Board for approval, and retained.
2. upon approval by the Board, furnish electronic copies of all minutes to each Chapter Member, and paper copies to those that need them.
3. handle correspondence as designated by the President, the Board, or the Membership, retaining copies in a permanent file, and furnishing a copy of all outgoing correspondence to the President.
4. communicate any deaths of Members or their family members to the Harmony, Inc. and Area 1.
5. maintain permanent files, to be turned over to her successor at the beginning of the new Fiscal Year.
6. send all necessary forms and money for the following: (a) New Members’ dues, (b) International dues, (c) Area 1 dues, and (d) Intent to Compete. send congratulatory e-mails to the top four (4) Choruses and Quartets at AC&C, and the top five (5) at Choruses and Quartets at IC&C.
7. have cheque-signing authority with the Treasurer.
8. present an annual report at the Annual Meeting.
As Treasurer the duties are as follows::
1. be responsible for the safekeeping of all Chapter funds, and shall receive and disburse funds as directed by these Standing Rules, or the Board of Directors.
2. give a financial summary at each Board Meeting for the Secretary to include in the minutes.
3. notify Members when they are thirty (30) days behind in payment of dues. She shall advise the Board of any extenuating circumstances she knows to exist.
4. maintain an accurate financial record for each Member.
5. keep an accurate record of all receipts and disbursements
6. maintain the Chapter bank account and have cheque signing authority with the President, Vice-President, or Secretary. C
7. coordinating with the Fundraising Chair, she shall maintain financial records of all fundraising projects and shall deposit all monies.
8. at the end of the fiscal year, present annual Financial Reports at the Annual Meeting.
9. with the Board, will present a budget at the March Board Meeting for approval in advance of the Annual Members’ Meeting.
10. arrange for a review at the end of each fiscal year.
11. submit the T-2 Form to the Canada Revenue Agency at the end of February. 12. present an annual report at the Annual Meeting.
The following is the responsiblity of the Music Director
1. serve as a Member of the Music Team, but not as the Chair.
2. teach the art of singing four-part harmony barbershop style.
3. direct the Chorus at performances, rehearsals, and area and international contests.
4. develop and deliver a plan for each rehearsal after consulting with the Music Team.
5. after discussing specific needs with the Performance Chair and with the Music Team, plan the musical program for all performances.
6. attend educational activities, with the approval and financial support of the Chapter, whenever possible.
7. work with the Quartet Promotion Chair to promote and assist Chapter Quartets.
8. work with the Music Team providing training, support, and encouragement to develop their leadership skills.
9. approve the vocal suitability of a perspective Member, before final approval of the Board.
10. appoint Section Leaders.
11. use discretion in determining each Member’s eligibility to perform with the Chorus.
12. when approached with matters of administration, she should redirect the Member to the appropriate committee Member.

6. inform the Director/Assistant Director regarding any assistance needed by her section, especially while learning new music.
7. designate section Members to assist guests within her section.
The following are the responsibilities of the Tenor Section Leader:
1. serve as a Member of the Music Team.
2. assist her section in learning music.
3. model and maintain order during section practices.
4. encourage the creation of sound tapes for personal improvement.
5. assist the Director in screening prospective Members.
6. inform the Director/Assistant Director regarding any assistance needed by her section, especially while learning new music.
7. designate section Members to assist guests within her section.
The following are the responsbilities of the Bass Section Leader
1. serve as a Member of the Music Team.
2. assist her section in learning music.
. model and maintain order during section practices.
4. encourage the creation of sound tapes for personal improvement.
5. assist the Director in screening prospective Members.
6. inform the Director/Assistant Director regarding any assistance needed by her section, especially while learning new music.
7. designate section Members to assist guests within her section.
The following are the responsiblities of the Coreographer of the Sea Belles.
1.serve as a Member of the Music Team.
2. teach Members to perform professionally on stage and backstage.
3. provide and teach written choreography plans to accompany Chorus music.
4. train Members of the Choreography Team to develop and teach Choreography to the Chorus.
5. present an annual report at the Annual Meeting.
Full duties of the President are as follows:

Objective: To provide financial assistance to members who are having financial difficulty meeting expectations of membership. This may include assistance with attendance at Contest and/or monthly fees. A member can only apply for this fund once every 2 years. THIS IS A CONFIDENTIAL PROCESS
