Awarded to Marilyn Hickman
This Lifetime Honorary Membership Award was given to Marilyn Hickman in November 2023.Marilyn Hickman, our former Director, is originally from Springhill, Nova Scotia. She grew up singing and acting with her family and moved to Saint John in 1982. She was looking for a group to sing with and has been a Barbershopper for 38 years, acting as Assistant Director for over 30 years.
She served as our Vice President and Membership chair.person. She also served as Lead Section Leader, Treasurer, Social and Ways and Means. In March 2024 Marilyn's contribution to the chorus were recogized by her Sea Belle sisters when she was presented the Barbershopper of the Year Award.
Marilyn has sung in Quartets; A Notable Sound, won the Area 1 contest in 1989, Coastal Relfelection, won Novice Award in 1995 and comped with Nova Quattro.
Marilyn is a fun and upbeat gal, and it was a pleasure to sing for her.
Marilyn retired from Sea Belles in November 2023 and has moved to Albert to be cloer to her daughter and grandchildren. she will be greatly missed.

This award is given to retired Sea Belles who have served the Chorus in many ways as President, Board Member, committee chairs and membership and have been committed to the Sea Belles for a very long time.

It is my distict pleasure to present Vangie Mofford with this Lifetime Honorary Membership in Sea Belles of Harmony Inc. Congratuilations to you from your loving Sea Belles.
Vangie has spent over half of her lifetime as a member of Sea Belles. She has been President, Vice-President, Secretary; several times over,and over many years. Vangie has Chaired the Music Team. Costume Team, past Shows, Performance Chair, Fund Raising, Parliamentarian and has provided leadership throughout the chorus in many capacities.
Sea Belles love and respect Vangie for all she has done for them over the years. Her generosities and commitment to Sea Belles are numerous. The Board takes pleasure in approving this honour. Sea Belles wish you well and many happy hears ahead. We love you.

This award is given to retired Sea Belles who have served the Chorus in many ways as President, Board Member, committee chairs and membership and have been committed to the Sea Belles for a very long time.
Irene Goddard, friend and fellow Sea Belle, said this at the presentation of the award to Marg on September 18, 2021:
It is my honor and priviledge to present Marg Purdy with this Life Time Membership Honorary Award in the Sea Belles. Marge has been a member of Sea Belles for 40+ years and has contributed so much to the successes of our Chorus. She has been involved in all levels of the Chapter's operations and has been a valualble memberof the Chorus and especially the Bass Section. Marg's wisdom, sage advice, interpretations and thoughtful input has helped us all to learn more about the messages in a song and how to appl your own experinces to interpretation. Thank you Marg for all that you have given us. We wish you a Happy Retirment. We will always love you and Hope that you can be with us when you are able.
Sadly Marg passed away after a battle with cancer on December 11. 2021. She will be greatly missed.
