Sea Belles’ Coaching Weekend with Wendy McCoole, Not all hard work

March 23-24 Sea Belles A Cappella Chorus all gathered at Camp Beulah in Browns Flats, NB for their annual Board Installation and music retreat with Harmony Queen and certified Singing Judge Wendy McCoole. As is often the case when these women get together, there were lots of laughs in addition to hard work to improve the quality of their music as well as overall performance for the upcoming Area Convention and Contest.

During the weekend retreat, new Chorus officers were also installed by Wendy at the Board Installation Service and Dinner. New officers include President Helen LeFort, Vice President Bernice Blake-Dibblee, Secretary Jane Trites, Treasurer Marilyn Hickman, Past President Susan Ingraham, and Board members Hazel Alexander, Courtney Bannister, Ann Connolly, Vangie Mofford and Brenda Smith. Outgoing Board members were also acknowledged for their contributions to the chorus and thanked by past president Susan Ingraham. Also presented, was the much coveted annual Barbershopper of the Year Award, this year presented to TWO members, Cindy Mayo and Jane Trites for their contributions to the chorus. More information is included HERE.

This weekend retreat was held to prepare Sea Belles for Harmony, Incorporated Area 1 Convention and Contest May 31- June 2, 2018 at Mount Allison University in Sackville. The public is invited to hear quartets and choruses compete from across the Atlantic region Friday afternoon and evening, June 1. Sea Belles hope to remain one of Atlantic region’s top ranking ladies’ a cappella choruses.
