Sea Belles, Inc., a Chapter of Harmony, Inc. chartered in April of 1969. In 2014 the chorus celebrated its 45th Anniversary!

The ladies sing four part harmony – a cappella style – the lead sings the melody line, the tenor sings above the lead line, the bass sings below the lead line, and it is always said that the baritone sings all the notes that are left over – the ones no other part wants.

Sea Belles welcome women of all ages, who love to sing! If you’re reading this and wondering whether Sea Belles might be for you, come visit us at

  • Portland United Church, 50 Newport Crescent, Saint John, NB E2K 1Y5, Canada NEW LOCATION effective April 19, 2016
  • Practice times are 7:00pm-9:30pm every Tuesday evening from September until June. We would love to see you.

We’re a friendly, fun-loving group of women of all ages – from 14 to 80!  We love to sing for audiences, harmonize, and have fun.  We always welcome new voices to our chorus.

Sea Belles take part in two competitions a year:

The first cometition is in June which is the Area 1 Competition – this includes Choruses from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland. Sea Belles is currently Atlantic Canada’s number one women’s A Cappella chorus within Harmony, Inc.

In November they attend an International Competition which can be held anywhere in North America. Sea Belles have travelled as far away as Indianapolis. In order to be eligible to compete on the International level the Chorus has to attain a certain number of points in their score at their Area Competition, and luckily Sea Belles have always done this.
